REAL President to Visit Ethiopia Tsehai Wodajo Begins Two Week Tour
REAL President, Tsehai Wodajo, left August 4 for a two week trip to Ethiopia to expand the number of clusters of girls to be supported. Presently REAL is supporting 15 girls in each of two clusters, one in Nejo and one in Bodji.
Tsehai will visit the girls in these two clusters to encourage them in their school work and to assure them of support for the next school year.
She will also meet with church and community leaders in Burayu Katta and Nekemte to sign the necessary contracts to begin support for an additional 15 girls in each of those two locations. A local committee in each location will be named to select the girls for support.
The REAL support program calls for a mentor for each cluster of girls. Tsehai will meet with the mentors to rehearse the expectations for their relationship with the girls. Board members, Feben Gobena and Leonard Flachman, have been working on a job description for the mentors. A mentor's manual is to be developed in the coming year.
Tsehai will return in time for the REAL board meeting on August 28.
